About Sruti Dalmia
For Sruti Dalmia (She/Her), designing clothes has been an insatiable calling that she has successfully turned into an eponymous label. Dalmia was always interested in global contemporary fashion, and has constantly striven to teach herself practically about design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Dalmia was born into a Bengali family in Kolkata and moved with her family to New Delhi when she was six. She takes cultural and visual cues from her experience of living across four countries – India, England, Singapore, and Myanmar, and incorporates these inspirations into her designs. A self-taught designer, inspirations from Bengal are a ubiquitous part of the design in all her capsule collections. Through the years, Sruti Dalmia developed her own unique design aesthetic, the roots of which are steeped in modern global style and traditional Indian artisanry. Juggling motherhood and dreams of her own label, she launched Sruti Dalmia as a one-person label with her savings and operated from her garage, successfully selling out her first collection within a span of twenty days.
She formally founded her brand in 2021, with her triumphant presentation of the Autumn/Winter Collection at the London Fashion Week, a success that is replicated with a showcase of all her subsequent collections.
Sruti Dalmia brings her belief in sustainability and conscious production to her label. She constantly strives to bring the ethos of slow fashion to her brand, while at the same time creating ensembles that are chic, contemporary and accessible.
